We started our trip in the largest city of Yangon (aka Rangoon in the British colonial times). The city is full of beautiful colonial buildings that are in dire need of restoration. Thankfully, most buildings are still intact, and as the economy continues to improve, the government has plans to restore each building back to its formal glory. Some old buildings like The Strand Hotel have recently been tastefully restored and look incredible.
